Silicone Modeling Compound Kit
Narrative Cosmetics Silicone Modeling Compound creates realistic wounds, scars, and prosthetics. The versatile silicone product can be used to resurface the skin, create special effects, and even poured into molds––it's the perfect addition to your professional SFX makeup kit. Use the silicone compound directly on the skin or in a clean mold for a variety of applications including in theatre, film, TV, and other performance arts, as well as for Halloween or conventions. The kit can help you achieve ultra-realistic gunshot and knife wounds, decaying flesh, otherworldly skin textures, and more.
Before mixing, it's important to use separate tools to scoop out equal parts of the two components (A and B) onto a mixing palette with a 1:1 ratio. Once A and B are combined, the product will set immediately, so make sure not to cross-contaminate the tongue depressors, spatulas, etc. Once you're done mixing, transfer the combined product directly onto the skin or into a clean mold before it dries. If working directly on the skin, use a sculpting tool to create your desired look. To blend the edges into the skin, use 99% isopropyl alcohol to thin the silicone compound while it's uncured. The silicone will cure in approximately 10 minutes at room temperature. Using a hairdryer can expedite the drying time. Once cured, you can color your silicone creation with acrylic paint, creme-based, or alcohol-based makeup. For a stronger hold, prep the skin with a primer and apply a cosmetic grade silicone-based or medical adhesive.
IMPORTANT: Store and use at room temperature. Do not use any products that may contain sulfur or latex until the silicone has completely set.
Silicone Modeling Compound Kits come with one jar of A and one jar of B. There are two sizes available: 2 Oz. Kit (1 oz. of A, 1 oz. of B) and 4 Oz. Kit (2 oz. of A, 2 oz. of B).
Application Tips
Mix
